Skip was known for his deep commitment to people, his integrity, his passion for growth, and his unwavering dedication to the company he built.
From humble beginnings — leaving home at 15, serving in the Merchant Marines, working as a bellhop, and cleaning his church as a janitor — Skip built a business grounded in hard work, service, and care for others. He was a mentor, a fierce competitor, and a leader who believed that if you weren’t growing, you were shrinking. He loved people, supported associates at every level, and treated customers with genuine respect.
The Skip Marsden Award is given to individuals who demonstrate these same qualities:
- Exceptional dedication to Marsden’s mission
- A people first approach rooted in empathy, trust, and integrity
- Consistent leadership through commitment, loyalty, and service
- A passion for helping the organization grow and succeed
- A work ethic and attitude that positively influences everyone around them
This award is reserved for those who show the same heart, drive, and devotion that defined Skip’s life and legacy.
